I look forward to reading every book by this author, and was very excited about this one. I was so disappointed!! This book is about 2 very narrow minded women, who have made it to middle age and are now looking for love. The incredible elitist view of Maureen has is off putting. She is a librarian and thinks a plumber is beneath her. Jenna is just as bad, she thinks working in a restaurant is next to living on the street. Sorry, Debbie I was really disappointed in this one. I have read earlier Debbie Macomber books and thought they were nice easy reading. I was looking for a relaxing book for a summer weekend. Her current novel slogs along at a snail's pace. Detailing the excruciating minutiae of the lives of two divorced fiftyish women who seem to not have a clue about what life is like in the 21st century. Example: a woman librarian who has lived in Seattle all her life and does not know what the word "tailgating" means. You can't read a newspaper or watch a newscast without some mention of some team or sport and tailgating. These women don't know what to wear, where to go, what to say about anything. It is beyond ridiculous, more like they were divorcees in the 1950's. I kept waiting for something to happen, some plot, some anything. Like several of the other reviewers I skimmed through more than half the book. This was not some cheap second rate novel - but a full price best seller price for a new book! The only reason that made me keep skimming was not to totally waste the money before sending it to the Kindle Cloud. Actually this book made me angry for divorced moms everywhere - SO insulting.
